Congratulations To My Brother Tom and Anna On Their Marriage

Many congratulations to my youngest brother Tom, who has always been a caring brother to me and a lifelong friend, on his marriage to Anna on 23rd April, may they be happy now and forever.  It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining brightly in Glasgow, George and I performed in the service during the registry signing. We had a fabulous traditional ceilidh dance at the evening reception. I can’t wait to see the wedding photographs from the day.

Thank you Timothy, everyone looked so smart, I got my hair and make-up done by Charly and Mandi from Pin-Ups Hair Makeup in Glasgow, they both arrived with 40’s style curls and I said that’s just what I’d like. The curls stayed in all night long even whilst I was whirling around in the Scottish reels. My feet are still aching though hehe.

Thank you Sheila, I’ll share a photo of the bride and groom when I get one, everyone was asked to leave photographs to the official photographer and just enjoy the ceremony and the day so I only have a few on my phone so as not to get in the way of the official guy I think it stops that thing where people are looking at different cameras.

  15. Congratulations to Tom and Anna, Charlotte! Did anyone record you and George performing during the registry signing? I would love to see footage of the traditional ceilidh dance at the evening reception, too.

    1. I don’t think so Lavinia, but I may have a small clip I can use from the ceilidh. There were plenty of Anna’s family who knew all the reels and could lead the dances, my feet were sore for days dancing in those high heels.

My brother and his new wife are very happy Amritpal, that makes me happy and my friend Chiara has just been to India to get married (sadly on the same day as my brother’s wedding so I couldn’t go), but she looked beautiful in her traditional Indian dress and henna on her hands and arms. So much to be grateful for.

    1. We were very lucky with the weather that weekend in Glasgow, sunny, not too hot for dancing. I always enjoy going up to Glasgow it feels like my second home.

    1. I love the dress it is from Monsoon, there is a designer outlet village near my parents and I spotted it in a sea of dark outfits hehe, the minute I picked it up I thought if this fits its mine.

    1. Hi Resa, the wedding was in an absolutely beautiful chapel with stained glass windows on three sides. Thank you Resa the yellow dress was a late choice I was originally going to wear dark burgundy but I saw it in an outlet village, it had pulls on it, my Mum said we could pull the snags through to the other side so I bought it.
      The performance wasn’t recorded everyone was asked to put their phones away because there was an official photographer and Anna’s uncle did the video but I think he was recording the signing of the register which was more sensible.
      I’m hoping to put a new video I recorded recently on soon, I’m just waiting to get them back. I’m singing later at Terry’s ceremony of life service.

    2. I’m meeting up with them both this weekend, fingers crossed they have some wedding photos back. I didn’t record sadly but I have been in the recording studio so I’m hoping to share a video soon once the video and microphones have been mastered.

        So, I did some research on the Bat Flower. I was surprised to find out how large it is. However, they are about the same size as I made them in my last drawing. Lol… I thought I should check. What if they were like an inch wide?
        Okay, so knowing their size to proportion them to the gown, I have done a couple of rough ups, to see where I want to go. I think a boa effect is best.
        I really did like, in the last drawing, the way you held the flower on one wrist, like a falcon. There’s something there. Now my mind is racing again.

        I can hardly wait to hear the new recordings!

      2. My Mum made the flower corsages for the wrist and held on by magnets on the dresses. My Dad is hoping to having time to check over the sound on the videos today, fingers crossed.
        I love giving you a little new idea 💡 yay.

      4. Honestly they are truly amazing, my Dad spent all afternoon today on his day off from work checking my videos and getting the exposure right. In another life my Mum would have been a serious artist she is so creative.

Not yet, I am having problems on Resa’s blog leaving comments even when I enter my log-in and password so she sends me e-mails 🙂 she is really designing the most beautiful gowns at the moment, I love the green dress she did for Shey and Sunflowers are my favourite, her additions of the gold pen are magical. I used to do textile design at School i would have loved Resa’s blog at that time to give me inspiration although my skills are much much lower.

      3. WP can have some glitches. Fortunately there are alternate channels. Some bloggers I keep in parallel touch by Whatsapp. You might try that.
        Textile design now? That must be another universe… Hadn’t thought about it. Would you relate it to singing?

    1. Thank you Hilary, I hope that you, Edwin and all your family are doing well. I’d love to be able to put these hair rolls in myself I’ll have to have another go now I’ve seen an expert do it. It stayed in place all night too even whilst I was spun around under arms dancing.
