I love Christmas, I am tempted to put my tree and decorations up soon 🙂 Glasgow is a fabulous City to visit in the run up to Christmas, the shopping is fabulous and there’s an ice rink in George’s Square which will be great fun.
The lights were switched-on Thursday 14th November 2013 and there is to be a celebration on Saturday 30th November to commemorate Scotland’s patron saint St Andrew in George Square. You could try your hand at the fiddle, there will be music and Highland dancing before a big family ceilidh and I can’t make it because I’m in Cheshire at the Bowdon Festival.
This evening I had a stroll through the streets of Glasgow to take in the Christmas lights and it is fabulous to be in the middle of it all.
I wonder how I would get these lights home, they would look great in my flat : )
When I was home recently we watched this video of me aged 7 entering a competition on the BBC to sing with Faye from Steps, I did get on to the TV although I did not get into the final. I thought I’d share it, I hope you enjoy it 🙂
Had a very shinny nose indeed lol 🙂
I wish I still had that nose 😉 not easy to sing with your nose blocked though lol

This post has lifted me into the Christmas spirit! Love the cute and cheery rendition of Rudolph 🙂
Hi Tony, I’m learning Christmas repertoire at the moment so I’m feeling very festive. I loved watching our old videos 😉

It’s lovely, merci Charlotte.
Hi Pascal, how do you say “you’re welcome” 😉 in French?

Charlotte
H Charlotte, it’s : “Bienvenue” or, “vous êtes le (la) bienvenue”
Yes,’tis the season to be jolly, and you have provided a joyous kick off!
That’s another song I love at Christmas ‘tis the season to be jolly’ thanks for reminding me of it 😉 .

You were adorable! (Still are. 🙂 )
My Dad goes all gooey when he watches these clips back lol.

Well, I understand that! My younger granddaughter, who is just 6, is also named Charlotte, and she looks very much like you did in that Christmas clip. (Her other grandmother had a Scottish mother, which may explain it.) We go all gooey when we look at her!
That’s so lovely!
Did you rock from side to side while you were watching lol?
Best wishes
Charlotte
even then you were honing your stage presence 🙂
Hi Bill, Any excuse to dress up, honestly you should have seen my dressing up box Mum used to have to make me all sorts of costumes.
All the best

Fun. Delightful post.
It certainly made me chuckle especially the bit with my brothers.

Liked the Rudolph song. Very sweet. Thanks for showing us around glasgow
Hi John, Thank you 😉 . Glasgow is such a friendly City and so different from the perception some people have of it, I feel really at home here. Glasgow’s image will be strengthened hosting the Commonwealth Games next year.

Was this a competition for the cutest kid award? That was adorable.
Hi Eric, I’m loving my hair, I must get my Mum to blow dry it for me now 😉 Is it bad to enjoy watching myself too much lol 😉

I have quite a few series of self-portraits, so I’m not the right person to ask. 😀
I can hear the hint of power voice from the young Charlotte and she gave me a smile 🙂
I used to love karaoke and I used to get the microphone taken off me 😉 he he. I’m glad to give you a smile.

Well darn, the video wouldn’t play for me, but the photos are just lovely. I love Christmas too, we keep our tree up all year!
What a good idea with the tree, mines fake this year I’ve bought a silver tree in a box ready and it already has lights on and baubles in pink and blue, it just pulls out like Mary Poppin’s magic.

Our already has lights on it too, and I decorated it to match our wallpaper! But silver with pink and blue sounds WAAAY better,
Even at seven you were good.
Thanks Don, I really wanted to win the chance to sing with Faye Tozer I was a big fan and won a singing competition singing ‘5, 6, 7, 8’ on holiday 😉

Hehe, great post Missy H…
I was so like that at 7 – yeah right, not. I did sing the lead in Oliver when I was about 10, does that count? (lol).
Anyway, all looks very festive. No christmas here of course, we had our largest festival Eid-Al-Adra a while back (Islamic calendar is lunar so changes by 10 days every year). Busy time of year for you suspect too – enjoy 🙂
Really glad you enjoyed it 😉 . Kudos to you getting the role of Oliver, I was Mrs Bumble in one Easter production and Nancy when I was about 15 in a summer school production. I have a really busy Monday schedule at the Conservatoire 😉

Waiting to see pictures once you are done with your Christmas decorations 🙂
Ooh I’ll try to remember to get a couple of photographs. Last year I got told off in my lodgings because I left the shiny pink streamers I put up all over my bedroom ceiling because it was a fire risk apparently 😉

Hahaha!
Really great video! A good start to the holiday season… 🙂
Thank you, it’s only four weeks to the Christmas holiday, exciting month 😉

Hilarious Charlotte, you definitely had stage presence way back then. little cutie.xx
Did you rock along with me, I did ask where my backing track was, I’d have won with a backing track lol.

I think this has become my favorite of all your songs I’ve listened and I love the featured picture as well 😉 😀
I should do this now for a chuckle but it won’t be the same without that fab nose! 😉

Gorgeous lights! I would love them, too–but I’d hate taking them down so I guess Glasgow can keep them. 🙂
Good point, what goes up must come down for the New Year!

Hi, Charlotte. I’ve heard and read great things about Glasgow, and although my one and only time in Scotland was a brief trip into Edinburgh last November, I feel I want to return not only to Edinburgh, but also to see more of Scotland. It’s no surprise a lot of my travels have served as “introductions” to much larger areas where I want to see and explore. Love those light fixtures in Glasgow! Happy holidays, and thanks for stopping by to read and like my post about the Vancouver Christmas Market!
Hi Henry, wow you really are well travelled, how wonderful to speak all of those languages 😉
I’d never been to Scotland before I commenced my studies but I’ve fallen in love with it and it’s my second home now 😉
Best wishes
Charlotte
Hi, Charlotte. I’m fortunate to have traveled some and grateful to have been exposed to many languages. With your talent, you know with hard work and perseverance you’ll find yourself in unexpected places. I’m always glad to read about people able to find love in a place different from where they were born and raised; for me, I feel my second home is Germany. Thanks for your reply!
Oh my… that video of you was just adorable! And you had quite a good voice already! 🙂
Hi Stephanie, it’s been great seeing some of our old video recordings, we’ve laughed a lot.

Adorable Charlotte. Now we need one of the older you singing Rudolph. Dianne
When I get my voice back I’ll try to do that 😉
