So Much Fun – For A Thursday Afternoon

Last Thursday ( 10th September ) I had the pleasure to help out a friend, the very talented Yigit Mert Sengun. He has just opened his own boutique called Le Nozze Boutique, designing and selling spectacular corsets and fabulous special occasion and wedding dresses.

I was so excited when I was asked to participate in the photo shoot, what an opportunity to try on so many gorgeous outfits whilst helping out a friend at the same time. The shoot was to start at 1 o’clock in the afternoon and as the time approached my excitement grew, I couldn’t wait to get down there and see his designs and try them on for the first time.

He invited me to pick which corsets I would like to try on, along with his favourite ones. Each one was special in its own specific way, from sumptuous satin to streams of sparkles I felt like a Princess.

The outfits were surprisingly comfy to wear as the fabric on the inside was soft on the skin, the designs allowed each garment to be pulled in to my exact shape which still left me with plenty of room to breathe and move. Which I wasn’t expecting from stories that I had read about the olden day corsets.

I first met the designer, Mert, at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, when he too was learning how to sing operatically. As we both had the same teacher we often met and exchanged stories, talking about our dreams over cups of tea. It was lovely to take a step into his store and be a part of his dream, to see his vision taking shape and to listen to the enthusiasm about his future plans.

The pictures were taken by my beautiful friend Olga Ivakina, who is also a trainee classical soprano. We worked inside and out, which created some hilarious moments as I walked out in these marvellous dresses and had to pose as people were walking and driving past in Glasgow city centre. It was lots of fun. I certainly know what I’m asking Santa for this Christmas!

So if you find yourself in Glasgow and are looking for something special or and a little different to wear then I can recommend a visit to this beautiful shop “Le Nozze Boutique” at 32 St Andrews Street, Glasgow, G1 5PD.

For some reason photographers love capturing me in mid-laugh like this last shot!

  1. The camera LOVES you! Should you ever decide on a career change, I believe you could blow the world of photographic modeling away! And btw, that dark blue corset is stunning. Brava!!

    1. I think the modelling world would consider me too big at size 10! 😳 At least shops have started to wake up to more realistic shaped models, I watch those modelling programs sometimes and they are so small size 0, I enjoy my food too much 😀.
I loved the blue one too, with a long skirt I think they’d be stunning in a concert.
      Best wishes

  2. You look like a princess… I love the one with you wearing the pink dress… 🙂
Excellent gallery, dear Charlotte. Love and best wishes. Aquileana 😀

    1. Hahaha most guys now don’t know whether to compliment or not, it’s hard. You can’t sell fashion without people modelling the clothes, but there was that article this week about the lawyer who didn’t like her profile photo being complimented 😳!
      Best wishes Martin,
      Charlotte

  3. Charlotte, you did a magnificent job. Not only are the designs lovely you show them off well. Kudos to Yigit and you.

    1. They were very comfortable to wear, the creative industries are so important in the UK, luckily my school and the RCS are very encouraging for us to explore our own paths.
      Best wishes

  4. Wow! When I checked the site I expected to view a clip of another stunning musical performance and instead was greeted with these equally amazing photographs from an obviously talented photographer but also starring a vivacious and talented model. Surprise!

  5. Absolutely stunning Charlotte.
Love them all on you, beautiful corsets, I love the green one.I know where your birthday money will be going this year. Haha 😉😉

  6. All good but I particularly like the last one. As to photos of you in mid-laugh, I notice photographers like to take pictures of singers with their mouth open, particularly women singers. Don’t know why. They just do.

  7. Great photos,

I love the blue and gold corset and in that photo your portraying a complete absence of the presence of the camera. A melange of themes gently flowing into each other.

Did I say great photos? ;).

  8. Wow, you look super gorgeous in those outfits!!! Your friend is one talented designer!! If I ever visit Glasgow one day, I’ll be sure to visit his shop. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  9. I’m pretty sure I commented on Facebook, but I’ll say it again: you look fabulous! I may have to kidnap you for a photoshoot sometime (with your permission, of course) . 😉

  10. About two of your posts – Love Handel -he was a rebel, didn’t care about public opinion and a genius in music! Great you could help a friend and try on some gorgeous pieces of clothing! You have a knack for modeling (your ballet and music performance skills help too of course:) – my favorites are your movement in the pink dress, and the beautiful blue top! Thanks for connecting:)
