Danza Danza Fanciulla Gentile

Francesco Durante (31 March 1684 – 30 September 1755) was a Neapolitan composer who is remembered for his collection of Sacred music compositions.  But within his repertoire is this little gem. A beautiful and evocative song that draws you in.

I love the movement that can heard in this piece. I imagine my voice representing the flowing fabrics of the lady’s skirt whilst she dances in the sea breeze. It’s full of Italian passion and it just makes me want to dance.

  1. That’s a really great rendition!!!! I think maybe the piano might be muted a tad when you are singing but it may just be the way it sounds from my PC and what I know about mixing volumes could be written on a grain of rice.

    1. It was taken from the live balcony concert, we moved the mikes the following week and bought a gadget for the microphone on the iPhone like a little fur ball. We recorded the tracks for the album indoors and put better balance on the microphones, learning new tricks.

      1. Haha excellent!!! I hope I didn’t come across as ‘picky” was really just offering a thought. It was a wonderful thing to play here in a cold evening!!!!

      2. No not at all we noticed we could hear the sounds of the keys 🎹 and the balcony is quite small so positioning the phone for recording took some practice to get right 👍🏻😁

    1. Thank you Trent, it makes a nice change from trying to dance in the living room.
      Best wishes to you,
