I would love to wish you, my wonderful online community, a Happy Easter. Thank you for being so supportive all year round. I hope that you are touched by the re-energising magic of spring. I would also like to give my parents a huge virtual hug, as I can’t be with them to celebrate this weekend. Finally, I hope the sun is shining on your collective homes as brightly as it is here in London.
I am working hard now, well … as always 😊, and my current focus is to make some recordings that I can use for the preliminary rounds of competitions. I will also share them with opera houses in the hope to gain an invitation for general auditions. My mum has a beautiful habit of sending me motivational images that act as energy catalysts fuelling my practice and mental attitude. For example, the quote: “The seeds I sow matter more than I know.” (Morgan Harper Nichols) truly inspires me. It reminds me that all the effort I put in now, all the nitty-gritty tasks that may not visibly be instant blossoms, will be worth it in the coming months and years.
My mum encourages me to see that I am constantly growing and that if I am persistent and consistent with my work, I will continue to thrive and strive to achieve my aspirations. I hope that sharing these ideas with you acts as a little encouraging bump towards your own goals. I invite you to be courageous and to continue to believe in yourself.
I would love to hear about your current goals, big or small so that I can be part of your journey and congratulate you in your moments from seed to bloom.

My current goal is to shake of a mental malaise that is stripping me of the ability to write virtually anything. I shall try to hold you as an inspiration, Charlpottew. Happy Easter.
😂 you can do it. I hope that you had a lovely Easter weekend. My brother made his own Easter eggs, fondant and everything like Cadburys Crème Eggs. I took a short break Sunday just for a taste test hehe.
Happy Easter to you and yours, Charlotte.
Happy Easter John, I hope that you had a lovely weekend.
Love it that your Mum is so supportive! I am on a journey of aligining myself with my body’s mobility. It is taking time and there are times that I have to remind myself that there IS growth, no matter how small. Ah, perhaps it is time for Go You part Two. <3
I’d love a ‘Go You too’ or 2. My mum took up Pilates with my friend Ciara after she had a fall and it damaged her ankle and knee, she swears by it now. Good luck.
Happy Easter Charlotte & George xx
Happy Easter Jo from both of us.
Charlotte & George
A lovely post Charlotte, happy Easter to you and George, see you soon.❤️🥰😘
Yes, I’m so sad we won’t see you this weekend, here is a virtual hug 🤗.
Happy Easter to you to Charlotte. My goal this year as always is to get out in my car to a few shows and get some fresh air. 🚙 👍
It’s getting expensive now with the price of petrol and diesel isn’t it! What do you think of this big change to battery cars?
Petrol is silly money as you say. I think petrol cars are here for a while yet. The infrastructure for electric vehicles is not there yet. Also they are not green as people think. The footprint to create the batteries in the first place is horrendous. With the increase of electric demand what is going to power the increased demand? Battery cars are getting better but again they are not there yet. They have a bit of a reputation to catch fire, and once they are on fire they can’t be put out very easily. Great questions though. Take care.
Yes this is what my Dad said, also living in a flat there are no recharging points and I couldn’t afford a new battery car, plus I’m worried you’d be buying a lot of battery problems with a second hand one. But London has so many extra charges now. The other day I parked near school as I was driving up North after work to attend a funeral and entered 1 digit wrong from my number plate on the parking app, when I got back I had a fine stuck on my windscreen I panicked it was more than I’d earned all day, luckily I appealed and they accepted my appeal on this one occasion.
Some good really good points there, second hand batteries will always be a worry. As for the ticket I think you were a lucky lady, especially with the fact that people try to fleece you anyway they can for money.
Happy Easter, my dear Charlotte to you and your loved ones! 🐇🌷💗
Happy Easter my lovely marina, I hope you and your husband had a lovely Easter holiday.
Hope your Easter has gone well. I am so happy and proud to be able to say “I met you when” . . . when you were first approaching your wonderful career. AND proud of YOU and everything your hard work and talents have accomplished.
Thank you so much Cheryl for your lovely uplifting message, it is great to hear from you, I hope that you are still keeping up your art and designs in your home. Covid certainly threw us a curve ball lets hope we can bat it away.
Happy Easter, Charlotte 🌸☀️🐣🐰🌱🌷
Thank you Elizabeth, happy Easter to you I hope that you had a lovely weekend.
Happy Easter, Charlotte. At my age my biggest goal is just to get a good night’s sleep.
And my goal is that my husband will get one too! Our body clocks are wait out of sync with each other 🙂
Haha 😂 my Nana is always complaining about waking up in the night and early, you are always so busy writing your mémoires and I love to read them.
And I love to read your posts
Happy Easter, Charlotte! I’m glad that your mother is so supportive, she’s wonderful. I went back to church for the first time today in six years, my goal is to continue this! Be well! ❤️🙏🏻🇬🇧
Happy Easter John, so happy to hear that you went back to church I hope the service was a good one and was inspirational and uplifting for you.
Happy Easter, Charlotte.
Happy Easter Timothy I hope that you had a lovely weekend and managed to get out with your camera.
I’m never without camera. We did have a nice weekend. How about you?
I was working most of the weekend but I did pop to my brother’s who made me a meal and he gave me a homemade Easter egg with fondent inside, very sweet but tasty. I had a dinner party the Thursday evening before Easter which was fabulous with super company another good meal cooked by a fabulous home chef.
Happy Easter Jovina I hope that you had a lovely weekend.
Happy Easter, Charlotte!
Happy Easter Trent, did you manage to get a weekend off work completely? In the UK we have Good Friday and Easter Monday as bank holidays but I had to work through to reach a deadline, although I went to a rather lovely dinner party on the Thursday evening which reminded me of how much we’ve been missing during the near constant covid restrictions.
I worked Friday and Monday. The local school had Friday off. Our restrictions weren’t as bad as yours, but it has been nice to socialize more, like some neighbors having an impromptu “sit down with a glass of wine” informal party on Monday.
Wishing you and George a Happy Easter, Charlotte! 🙂❤️🙂
Thank you Lavinia, Happy Easter I hope that everything is going well for you on the farm. We are in Spring which is just lovely at the moment, I hope that it stays bright for my younger brother’s wedding this weekend.
Best wishes to your younger brother and his bride, Charlotte! 🙂❤️🙂
Your mum deserves a medal or two for these inspirational words – celebrate spring, new opportunities, courage, persistence.
Thank you Sheila, I love Spring at the moment its bright and sunny but not too hot like summer can sometimes be, we don’t have aircon. Mum does deserve medals, she has always gently pushed my brothers and I to set goals, work hard and achieve them whilst having creative goals and fun things to plan in. My older brother took up baking a couple of years ago and is also designing games in his spare time and my younger brother has started ballroom dancing competitions and writing again which is great.
Happy Easter Charlotte to you and your hubby! 🥚🐇🐾🙏
Thank you Cindy, George is preparing like a demon for a competition so it spurs me on.
Happy Easter Charlotte and George.
Have a lovely day.😘😘
Happy Easter to you both, see you on Friday can’t wait to catch up.
Your good wishes reciprocated. I wish you well with the recordings
Thank you Derrick, I have had problems booking a reasonably priced recording studio, when you leave the system it isn’t always easy to get affordable slots so I’m trying somewhere new out which is exciting.
You other followers and myself are all appreciative of your talent and admire your accomplishments. I hope you, George and the rest of your family have had a wonderful Easter!
Thank you for your lovely message GP, I hope you had a nice, relaxing Easter weekend.
Yes, I did. But after 2 years of this pandemic, I’m ready for some excitement!! EEEE-haw!
I know what you mean. My youngest brother Tom’s wedding this weekend thats exciting.
YES it is. Enjoy !!
I hope you and George had a wonderful Easter, Charlotte, and I look forward to hearing about all the lucky places that invite you to sing! I am enjoying my grandchildren and editing – sooo slowly – my latest book!
I’m singing at my brothers wedding this weekend a couple of new songs. Glad you are having time with your grandchildren, and that your book is progressing. Good Luck.
Wish I could be there. Happy Wedding to our brother!
Lovely post, Charlotte, and I hope you had a nice Easter. 🌷
Thank you Lauren, I hope that you had a lovely Easter weekend too.
Joyeuses Pâques back to you Charlotte.
I have no fear. You are very persistent.
May this Spring pop with a lot of “engagements”. (Not sure sure this is not Frenglish. Contracts, shows, gigs, what have you)
Joyeuses Pâques. ‘Engagements’ is good for the UK too. Merci.
Thanks for the confirmation. I don’t know why I seem to be mixing languages as of recently. Must be old age looming…
Best to you too.
You have such a wonderfully inspiring mother, and in turn, I bet you make her proud every day. As for my goal, I am thrilled to let you know that I will shortly go to a writers residency for one week at a country property left by one our leading artists. It’s called Bundanon. You might light a squiz – https://www.bundanon.com.au/,
Fabulous, I hope it fills you with inspiration. I thoroughly enjoyed my writer’s training and the people I met on the course. Have fun.
We just shot our short film, A Robot of Dawn, a week ago Sunday. It’s in post, now. Current goals include writing and uploading another Guardienne paper to ResearchGate, and a sonnet to finish my next play, “Shake, Willy,” about a guy who wakes up in Elizabethan costume after a wild party, and believes he’s Will Shakespeare. Sending out more queries for “The Perils of Tenirax” should make for a full agenda for the weeks to come. All the best, JG.
Wow 🤩 I’m am thrilled for you. So much achieved. Love the play title hehe. You keep at it.
Happy Easter, belated!
Charlotte, your mom is right on! I use those same sayings and more. She is wise in her support. She sounds amazing!
I sent you another drawing. I quite like it! It’s the Ukraine gown.
I’ve begun the deep red w/black.
It has not been sunny here, but it will be tomorrow. So, I’m going for a long walk, and will be stopping off to look at some black voile. The green pillow case gown is about 60 -65% done. The last half always goes faster.
Sending warm wishes to you and George!!!!!! ❦❦❦
Oh, Tim sent me an awesome Art Gowns gift package. I did a thank you post!
I don’t know if you can comment on my blog, yet. I’m going to see Brian Equinoxo’s latest post now. I’ll leave comments there, in case you want to leave a comment for me. What a nutty deal!
Hi Resa, let’s try again. Shey’s gown is absolutely beautiful that colour green is very popular in Scotland it goes so well with the Celtic skin tone. How lovely of Tim and Holly. I love the paint splotches and that you just drew around them. The gold on dress is fabulous too. —- nope it didn’t work i just can’t reply it doesn’t even ask me for my password and full details like it usually does on a couple of other blogs, I’m having the same problem on Marinas sometimes it allows a like and sometimes it doesn’t. It is very frustrating.
My mum is amazing I always see her at Easter and I couldn’t make it this weekend so I’ve missed her and Dad a lot. Your drawings really are getting quite amazing I will respond to the e-mail. Tim is a fantastic friend and this gift was very generous, we are lucky to know him. It is amazing I’m having to message you via Brian but his blog is gorgeous and gives me a much needed boost of Paris and other amazing locations. His last family post was amazing too did you see it?
I must message WordPress and ask why I can’t comment.
Best wishes always,
I’m looking forward to finishing the green gown! I’m off to look at some black voile today!
You should send a message to WP. I find they are very helpful. Often they can fix the mess, even if it is something to do with Akismet.
It seems like it’s been awhile, and the problem is not self correcting.
Tim is very generous. I’m excited to use the lights when I shoot the green gown. Holly is a good friend. I did see Brian’s last family post. He has a new one. Crazy how many photos he has in his archives.
I’m saving all my blotting papers now. Why waste? Plus I had fun creating an Art Gown drawing around the blots.
Anyway, take care! Tonight is a big drawing night for me. I’ve started one I like so far, and last night learned to draw the bat flower.
I’m sure you are wildly busy.
Just to let you know, I mailed you a Concept drawing with the red gown.
Just back from my brother’s wedding this weekend. I’ll take a look now. 🙂
Ohhh! How fabulous, a wedding!
Goals? I am working on Marketing, right now. Using the Canva app is a huge help with creating postcard layouts and other concepts for social media. I’m also trying to push myself into screenwriting more consistently. I’ve been hit or miss for too long.
As for electric cars, they are terribly expensive to me. The U.S. government is telling us to escape high gas prices by purchasing an electric car, but that’s going to require high monthly car payments not to mention more expensive car insurance payments. Of course, the politicians don’t think about this because they can afford it. Most Americans cannot. 🙁
I like the images you are creating on Instagram. Thanks for recommending Canva. You need a scheduler and allocate your hours to each task each day and week ahead.
I read there were some electric cars being produced by the Chinese that are much lower in cost I hope something like that comes to the UK, living in an apartment adds another problem with recharging points. Kia also have Lower cost battery cars I don’t know if you have those in America. My Dad said the problem with little battery cars is they need recharging more often.
Best wishes always,
Hmm.. rechargeable batteries are unreliable to me simply because the older a battery gets in many tech products the less efficient they are when charging them. To the point where we’ll have to replace a ridiculously expensive battery every 8 years. I want to move towards clean energy, yet this option has to be better than what we have now. I fear moving everyone to EV is going to cause more problems than we have now with vehicle costs.
I read an article that said the idea the politicians would like for the future is for people in cities not to own cars themselves, just call them to their door on a hire basis or collect them from local parking bays. My Mum immediately said it would be an insurance nightmare because you could get blamed for someone else’s accident damage, people wouldn’t drive them well or check the oil and water etc. Who would repair punctured tyres etc. And you’d get stuck if you wanted to hire a car at a busy moment as you do with taxis if you need one during the school run time. No easy answers but petrol is so expensive in the UK at the moment £1.75 to £1.80 per litre.
I tried depending on those rides for a while to get to Work, etc. They were so unreliable and sometimes didn’t show up at all when I needed them. After a few weeks, I was finally able to purchase my own car again.
As for petrol prices, America actually has enough petrol and natural gas to Supply not only our country, but most of Europe. However, the political party currently in charge does not like petrol and wants everyone to switch to Electric. So, they put Regulations in place to slow down petrol production, which drove up the cost of petrol by more than 50%. ..but now Americans are complaining so much about high prices that some politicians are starting to change their stance. I’m not sure if enough politicians will change their mind to increase petrol production.
At this point, I’m certain these politicians don’t know what they’re doing.
