  1. “Die Forelle” is to die for. Beautiful! Too bad I won’t be able to pop on over to Paddington on May 18th, but everyone who can will have a wonderful time. St. James church is a magnificent building.

    1. Thank you. We do have some magnificent churches. I’ve not performed there before so I’m excited to sing there, they have a fantastic list of concert performances.

      1. We experienced some fantastic choral concerts in old churches and castles in Spain. I say experienced because the sound and ambiance transports the listeners to another level than what one experiences in modern venues. The only thing we have here that is close are the ruins of some old churches the Spanish settlers built on pueblos in the 18th Century. Many years ago our church choir went out and sang in one of those old church ruins. The experience was similar.

While we were driving around exploring western Spain when we lived in Spain, we stopped for the night in a small village with a castle. The owners of the hostal we stayed in asked if we wanted to go to the concert in the castle with them. We never turned down invitations to concerts back then. An orchestra and chorale from Peru performed. The experience was heavenly.

      2. That all sounds wonderful, how long did you live in Spain for? I’ve not sung in this church before but the acoustics are usually very good in older churches here as you say. I performed in a Spanish castle a few years ago so I have experienced that, very magical.

      1. Thank you Charlotte. We all have Covid at the moment and still positive test results after well over a week! However, apart from that all is well with us.
        Best wishes, Clare

      2. Oh dear! I thought covid was on its way out. I hope you and all the family are fully recovered now Claire with no lasting symptoms a friend lost his taste buds for months after a bout of covid but that was before we’d had the vaccinations. George was performing in your neck of the woods on Sunday.

      3. Thank you, Charlotte. I wish I could have gone to listen to George but sadly I’m still not well enough. At last Richard tested negative today after over two weeks of infection! I will test tomorrow morning as I am supposed to be seeing the dentist in the afternoon. We are all still tired and coughing well 🙁

    1. Thank you Noelle. I love that your found it lyrical and fun just what I was aiming for.

      1. Merci. Charlotte. De même. Tomorrow is Labour Day. In the UK too, right? (Only ‘Murricans do it another day…)

      2. Yes it was Labour Day and we got an additional bank holiday this May for the Kings Coronation today which is good because I have two concerts to get ready for.

  5. What an incredible event this will be for your and George, and an opportunity for you two to spread the timeless beauty of classical music… The one thing I have enjoyed in my travels in Europe is to hear such timelessness ~ and the venue you are performing in will just highlight this moment for all your audience. Beautiful and wishing you both the best.

    1. I’ve been practicing most of the weekend and a refresher word learning each night after work. I really enjoy duo work.
