Midweek Music – My First Solo Recital of 2014

February 6, 2014 — 71 Comments

I have been working hard on preparing my essays this week and with my first solo recital of 2014 coming up next Wednesday, the 12th February, I thought it would be a good idea to create a poster for the event ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a second lunchtime recital in Bury, Lancashire on Friday, 14th February and I am looking to add a little St Valentine’s Day flair to my poster for that performance ๐Ÿ™‚

These recitals should be a great way for me to kick off the 2014 season and I do hope that if any of you can make it to the venue that you will say hello ๐Ÿ™‚

wish I lived near you, Charlotte. I would love coming to your recital. I know you’ll be wonderful and your hard work will be on display.

Hi Deanie, Southport is a bit of a trek for me too ๐Ÿ˜‰ Itโ€™s a classic English seaside resort 20 miles north of Liverpool. Iโ€™m hoping that Gill will be able to record a couple of songs for me so that I can review them.

      Best wishes

Sorry what a stunning picture.. hold on…
Okay wow. back on this planet…
Enjoy your performances.no need to say it I am sure you will.
Keep smiling. and have a fantastic year.

Good luck! I wish I could attend – or, play that flute part. Elizabeth Lawton is SO LUCKY!!

Lovely photo! Have a fun concert and knock him dead with your gorgeous voice! That means you will be wonderful as always! Xo

Wish I could be there, Charlotte! Best of luck. I’ve shared the link to your post with my friends in the UK ๐Ÿ™‚

I like your poster! ๐Ÿ™‚ If I lived in the area (or even in the same country), I would come, but sadly I’m a little too far away… Hope it goes well though! ๐Ÿ™‚

Show them what you got, you will be fantastic. Nice poster and a beautiful picture!

Best of luck to you! Like most everyone else who commented, I wish I were near enough to enjoy your performance live. In lieu of that I hope you will post an excerpt of your performance.

    Good luck! Great poster.

Thanks Dan, hope you are well ๏Š Iโ€™ll let you know how it goes I have a busy week next week, two recitals, a competition and a recording with the Tideswell Male Voice Choir. I thought I was in Bridge week next week. So Iโ€™m getting a bit of rest this week in preparation.

      Best wishes

I’d like to be there, Charlotte, but that’s a bit of a drive from Denver! Good luck.

Thanks Matt, my Dad wants me to record a CD in a studio this year or next so when I get around to it Iโ€™ll let you know and you can listen and imagine youโ€™re there ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Best wishes

Well, all the best for your first solo concert this year, Charlotte. Should be nice with the flautist and pianist accompanying. The acoustics in the church hall would be great for your recital. Have a lovely day! ๐Ÿ™‚

This will be my first performance with a flautist so thatโ€™s exciting. Russell and I have played together several times and thatโ€™s always a fun, professional experience for me.

      Best wishes

I love the poster and very best of luck. Enjoy!!

Great poster! Good luck to you!

    Love the poster!
    Hope the concert goes well.

Love the poster. Break a leg

Thanks John, Dadโ€™s experimenting with black and white, but his spiral and circle designs didnโ€™t fit for a church recital, I think he was inspired by the contemporary church windows in Chester Cathedral at the weekend.

      Best wishes

Well, if you let us have details of where and when, I’ll make the effort to get to Bury next Friday, and this time I’ll introduce myself.

I do wish I wasn’t so geographically challenged!

That’s exciting – your 1st solo recital of the year! Lovely poster, and all the best to your recital!

You simply take my breath away. Brava, for being.

Enchanting advert. Should I win the lotto, I’ll be jetsetting directly ๐Ÿ™‚

Loved the picture! ๐Ÿ™‚ Wish I lived in England… or wherever it is on the planet you are that I might attend. Best of luck!

Beautiful picture. Good show, Charlotte. You are going to be amazing.

I’d love to perform in the South West we had a holiday in Torquay once and went to the Eden Project and Clovelly happy memories.

Absolutely beautiful you. I wish I lived closer. Dianne

Thanks Dianne, ii’d love you all to be there, a full church would be fantastic. The church in Bury has been on the same site since the year 971 and is a grade 1 listed building ๐Ÿ˜‰

Best of luck for the performance, the poster looks great ๐Ÿ™‚ Recital on 14th that’s really good because in whatever way you sing…you are bound to get some red roses ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜›

If I were on the right continent, the right hemisphere, I’d be there in two seconds! I’d love to hear you sing live. xx

Lovely poster, Charlotte. What graphics software did you use? I’ve been trying out Lucidpress.com, which is free because it’s in beta testing, and I like it.

My brothers already had Photoshop for school enterprise and graphic design products so my Dad experiments with it with me butting in my two penneth. I’ll tell him about Lucidpress thanks ๐Ÿ˜‰
      Best wishes

    Have an epic recital! ๐Ÿ˜‰
