I’m really looking forward to the release of energy and opportunities that I hope the new year will bring. Often people focus on transforming how they present themselves mentally and physically to the world. With this in mind, I want to experiment with the look and feel for my blog and website, as a friend advised me it was starting to look a little dated. I thought, why wait? Why not ask my digital fairy godmother for inspiration and motivation to kick start the renovations on my blog.
When you visit this week, you may notice a dazzling change in presentation, logo, and a sprinkling of possible colour schemes. As I am personally developing the site, with a few zoom calls and pointers from my Dad, the changes will occur slowly over the next few weeks and hopefully will emerge as a beautiful butterfly in 2021! 🦋 Please be patient if any technical issues arise – As the fairy godmother said in Cinderella: “even miracles take a little time”.
I have tried a new WordPress theme called Fairy 🧚🏻♀️, not only because I loved the name but because it offers visually a smooth layout.
I have experimented with a new logo. It is inspired by my handwriting, a dusting of glitter to connect to performance glamour (as I love to wear a little bling), and a splattering of blue to link to my crafty side and the creative experiments I share alongside my professional journey. I have been tempted to add a couple of musical notes, but I’m not sure if it takes away from the design.
I often say my favourite colour is rainbow, but it’s hard to fit all of those colours in one coherent visual experience. At the moment I’m experimenting with blue, purple, orange, and yellow. What do you think? I have made a couple of colour groupings, inspired by pastels but I love a pop of colour. What colours would you associate with me and my experiences that I share with you here on my blog?

I love the design on your Blog and it is right on time. I wish you well on your marriage in the New Year and much success for the two of you. May the Lord bless you richly my Beloved.
Thank you Rev.Tim for keeping an eye on me and your blessings 🙂 I started to worry about our wedding getting cancelled again in October and whether April is far enough to the future with this virus then my Mum sent me a verse on Pinterest it was a quote from Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Hi Charlotte, I noticed the new design instantly. Well done. It looks lovely and a little softer on the eye also. Good luck with it and I look forward to seeing where it takes the website x
Thank you Christine, I did the background on my iPad Procreate good fun. The website will be a little calmer but I like to unleash my arty side on my blog as its more of a weekly journal encompassing not just my career but a little bit of this and that.
All my best wishes
Charlotte, I love this blog your photo is beautiful.
I always associate you with rainbow colours the brighter the better.
So happy you like it :). The photo is just a selfie I took yesterday. Awww I always like to see a rainbow on a rainy day.
All my best wishes
Charlotte I think the new format Is brilliant .
The graphics are great too.xx
I think a key aim in the graphic design for me was to make people feel happy. Xxx
Issues with blog seems to be catching. I had issues with mine saving the menus. Your blog does feel bright and clean. Good work Charlotte.
Thank you 😊. Bright and clean is perfect. I do always like to look on the bright side, i hope you spotted the sprinkle of glitter I added too 😂.
Wow, very nice work !! A very interesting start !!! About colors and you, as you know, you are for me Lady rainbow voice so for me you could have a rainbow somewhere in your bacround. Then, each week, use in your post the colors according with the thématique (with phtos or draw) … And, as you are a very strong and energetic girl, in your logo you can put a touch of red ! best toughts for you and George my friend !
All great suggestions Pascal, its funny you suggest the red, I did put some magenta blobs and musical notes in the logo (i don’t usually use red I don’t know why because I like to wear red, I think it’s the only colour I didn’t put in my wall) I worried too many colours might be over fussy I’ll put it in the blog post shortly and you can let me know what you think 🤔. I like the ideas of using colour for different categories or to suggest a theme for a post. Thank you, and best thoughts to you too,
Yes red musical notes it’s nice !!! You have very good artistic tastes. Do not hesitate to trust you !!!! And if there is anything I can do for you, as always, don’t hesitate to ask me.
Rocking the magic of change! Thank you for the effort (it looks beautiful) and the inspiration. We night all do ourselves a huge favor by taking the opportunity to emerge as our transformed selves in 2021 and beyond. 🙂
Gosh I agree we’ve got to give ourselves hope. I want people to look at my blog and say she’s not one to give up and give in and I hope it inspires people who are in a dark place to think happy thoughts. I’m grateful for your little messages on your blog Annette.
I think the colors you have chosen already are perfect, and the photo of you is beautiful, too! Wishing you a successful 2021 ahead!
Thank you Lavinia, George and I did some recordings yesterday so I took a selfie while my hair was looking nice 😂.
Best wishes, Charlotte
Your hair always looks nice! I wish I could say the same for mine. 🙂
Looking good, Charlotte. I guess a color I associate with you depends on what you are singing/saying/doing. For today’s blog I see the bright rays of sunshine breaking through the dark clouds.
Yay, that’s just the look I was going for. You’ve made my day.
Fabulous Charlotte! This is just beautiful. I’ll be looking forward to your progress
Thank you Holly. Miguel invested time looking through my blog and my website and I’m very grateful for his advice. I’m also very grateful for my parents who help with all the technicals and help put my crazy plans into action.
It’s awesome Charlotte! Job well done. Best wishes to you too!
I wish you were singing like that outside my window
I am having severe withdrawal from live performance with an audience. I’m hoping to prepare another concert or two for my neighbours, I wish you could all be here in the garden with us.
Maybe it will be possible to watch and listen to you live over the Internet?
Yes I streamed the last set concerts on YouTube 🙂
My dear Charlotte!
This post is exceptionally inspiring!
Not only is your new blog presentation a gem, but it has inspired me to update my Art Gowns blog.
Suddenly, I see so much more glamour and excitement. Now, that is saying a lot, because as you know: it’s all about glamour, beauty and excitement for me.
Cheers!!!!! (& WOW This new look is every bit as rich & spectacular, as you are!)
Yay, high five my friend. Go for it. Once I decided on the new theme it was quite an easy switch, there were some settings I had to change like the background, header, taking out the ‘categories’ box. Deciding the colours was the most challenging, I went purple at first but I didn’t feel at home with it.
There can never be enough glamour, beauty and excitement – I agree.
I’ll be perusing themes in my spare time!
I really adore the gem/lava/glitter feel of your new theme.
Cheers to you & all the beautiful things we can see, and/or imagine! – Resa
Great start on your re-vamped website.
Thank you, I have problems with the header logo apparently it isn’t centred on all different platforms and I don’t know how to fix that but otherwise I’m happy with it.
Your pastel hued design is lovely and playful. Your signature design is dignified and powerful. You are ready for both moods.
Thank you Patricia, playful;dignified;powerful – just a perfect summation of what I’m trying to achieve 🙂
Best wishes, stay safe and well,
Very nice 👍
Good morning 🌞
Good evening to you Amritpal, thank you for your sweet message.
All my best wishes
I am not one who accepts change very readily, but I must say, this is looking clean and professional, Charlotte. Congrats!
I’m happy that you thought it looks professional GP because although this is my journal and as you know I can be a bit fluffy I also wanted to keep it professional.
You have accomplished a lot/
Thank you Jovina, it was a challenge and there are some tweaks I’d like to do on the side bar I’d like a widget to link YouTube but I couldn’t find one.
I love the design of your new blog, Charlotte. It is fresh and bright and more closely represents who you are! Very professional and gives me a push to have mine redesigned.
It does feel like a reboot if you know what I mean Noelle, after seven years it did need a freshen up. There’s still some tweaks that I haven’t got the skills to sort out, my Dad is on the case trying to figure out what to do.
Best wishes to you
Your excitement shines through the portrait and your energy in the video.
Thank you Derrick I’m hoping to do another balcony concert I just need to figure out the lighting.
Blue, dear Charlotte. You remind me of Alice in Wonderland, the classical Hollywood version. Your logo’s colours are very similar to her. Good luck & inspiration!
Alice is one of my favourite literary characters yay. Thank you Maria.
I remember you have told me, dear Charlotte. I think if you use decorations, piece of illustrations etc. it will be terrific! Your cup of tea! 😁😁😁
Have a nice week! Cheers, Maria
Thank you 🙂
Goodness! Your singing is absolutely amazing. It’s so interesting to see how we can channel our voices. 🥰
Thank you Lissy I appreciate your message.
Simply amazing! 🙂
I really like all of this (which is a bit surprising for me to say as my favorite color is black). However, I do like all of it. I only have two suggestions. First, I would try your first and last name closer together for the logo. Maybe if you could also try one continuous line through the “tt” in Charlotte all the way through the “t” in Hoather ..that might be nicer.
Second, I like the color/texture for the website’s background ..if some of that could be in the Header of the site with your name that might work well. Of course, the added background texture would probably need to drop in Opacity so it doesn’t distract from your name.
Anyhow, I am happy that you are doing well. Take care.
Eric thank you I really appreciate your Designer eye, I do love all your work. I agree about the header background its a bit flat. I’ve got a problem that the logo doesn’t stay central when opened on different platforms and I don’t know how to fix that but I’ve asked my Dad to try to do it, poor Dad!
I hope that you are well my friend, it is a funny time isn’t it? Take care of you 🤍
Good luck with the redesign. Never an easy thing to do. One big change can be shocking, but also beneficial – but gradual changes work too.
Hi dear Charlotte, your site new look is pretty cool 💝💐🤗💞
Superb performance dear, XOXO
Great design ~ and great choice of music to accompany it with too 🙂
A very bright refresh. 🙂
