I’m really looking forward to the release of energy and opportunities that I hope the new year will bring. Often people focus on transforming how they present themselves mentally and physically to the world. With this in mind, I want to experiment with the look and feel for my blog and website, as a friend advised me it was starting to look a little dated. I thought, why wait? Why not ask my digital fairy godmother for inspiration and motivation to kick start the renovations on my blog.
When you visit this week, you may notice a dazzling change in presentation, logo, and a sprinkling of possible colour schemes. As I am personally developing the site, with a few zoom calls and pointers from my Dad, the changes will occur slowly over the next few weeks and hopefully will emerge as a beautiful butterfly in 2021! 🦋 Please be patient if any technical issues arise – As the fairy godmother said in Cinderella: “even miracles take a little time”.
I have tried a new WordPress theme called Fairy 🧚🏻♀️, not only because I loved the name but because it offers visually a smooth layout.
I have experimented with a new logo. It is inspired by my handwriting, a dusting of glitter to connect to performance glamour (as I love to wear a little bling), and a splattering of blue to link to my crafty side and the creative experiments I share alongside my professional journey. I have been tempted to add a couple of musical notes, but I’m not sure if it takes away from the design.
I often say my favourite colour is rainbow, but it’s hard to fit all of those colours in one coherent visual experience. At the moment I’m experimenting with blue, purple, orange, and yellow. What do you think? I have made a couple of colour groupings, inspired by pastels but I love a pop of colour. What colours would you associate with me and my experiences that I share with you here on my blog?

Thank you Christine, I did the background on my iPad Procreate good fun. The website will be a little calmer but I like to unleash my arty side on my blog as its more of a weekly journal encompassing not just my career but a little bit of this and that.

Wow, very nice work !! A very interesting start !!! About colors and you, as you know, you are for me Lady rainbow voice so for me you could have a rainbow somewhere in your bacround. Then, each week, use in your post the colors according with the thématique (with phtos or draw) … And, as you are a very strong and energetic girl, in your logo you can put a touch of red ! best toughts for you and George my friend !
All great suggestions Pascal, its funny you suggest the red, I did put some magenta blobs and musical notes in the logo (i don’t usually use red I don’t know why because I like to wear red, I think it’s the only colour I didn’t put in my wall) I worried too many colours might be over fussy I’ll put it in the blog post shortly and you can let me know what you think 🤔. I like the ideas of using colour for different categories or to suggest a theme for a post. Thank you, and best thoughts to you too,

Yay, high five my friend. Go for it. Once I decided on the new theme it was quite an easy switch, there were some settings I had to change like the background, header, taking out the ‘categories’ box. Deciding the colours was the most challenging, I went purple at first but I didn’t feel at home with it.
There can never be enough glamour, beauty and excitement – I agree.

I love the design of your new blog, Charlotte. It is fresh and bright and more closely represents who you are! Very professional and gives me a push to have mine redesigned.

I really like all of this (which is a bit surprising for me to say as my favorite color is black). However, I do like all of it. I only have two suggestions. First, I would try your first and last name closer together for the logo. Maybe if you could also try one continuous line through the “tt” in Charlotte all the way through the “t” in Hoather ..that might be nicer.
Second, I like the color/texture for the website’s background ..if some of that could be in the Header of the site with your name that might work well. Of course, the added background texture would probably need to drop in Opacity so it doesn’t distract from your name.

I’ve got a problem that the logo doesn’t stay central when opened on different platforms and I don’t know how to fix that but I’ve asked my Dad to try to do it, poor Dad!
