This sounds enchanting, Charlotte! 🥰
Thank you John, I very much enjoyed turning up and just enjoying someone else’s planning. I learnt so much more about Mozart and the music scene in Salzburg, they sold every single ticket for the music festival it is very popular. The scenery there is breathtaking, being able to experience the mountains and fresh air was rejuvenating after a very busy few months.
I’m ready to start singing again tomorrow in preparation for opera rehearsals to start on Friday.

That sounds wonderful, Charlotte, best wishes for your next adventure! ☺️❤️🇬🇧
Great trip
It was very rejuvenating John, I’ve never had a mountain holiday before, so this trip gave me that opportunity and its under two hours flying from Gatwick. If I’d had another day I would have liked to hire a bike and go on one of the bike trails. They also had paragliding but I’m not daring enough for that.

It sounds like a nice rest.
A couple more days in the mountains would be wonderful.
A little like Alice in Wonderland. What a fun adventure.
That is such a perfect analogy the start in Salzburg was fast paced and so interesting. It was a very different experience for me, to just breathe and relax 🧘🏼♀️ in the mountain air, I would love another day or two but its a good excuse to come back.

I have experienced both Salzburg itself and the nearby mountains, and it is a wonderful part of the world.
Where did you stay in the mountains Thomas its quite breathtaking isn’t it! What season did you visit? I believe its amazing in the winter time and there is also a music festival in January.

I had a summer holiday in Mondsee (a bus ride from Salzburg) once.
What an amazing trip.
Mart, you would love to take your mustang on the great roads there, the scenery is magnificent we were collected in an electric BMW series 7! Such a quiet, relaxing trip past rivers and waterfalls. At one point we passed through Germany.

I think I would love to drive there too. Glad you had a great time, you looked so chilled out there. 👍
Wow! Simply, wow! Thank you for sharing such a grand experience.
It was so nice to have experts plan an itinerary, especially as I had no knowledge of the area, its my first trip to Salzburg and a great opportunity to practice speaking and listening in German. The tour guide asked about my interests so she knows what to concentrate on. The Sound of Music was filmed there and lots of people do tours on that film, however, my desire is to discover as much about Mozart’s birthplace and home as possible and to learn more about the singing festival that takes place throughout August. I’ve never had a holiday in the mountains either so I’m not sure what to expect, the hotel is much more than just somewhere to sleep, it’s a real wellness experience and just the sort of wind down my body, mind and soul needs after a hectic year.

What a wonderful short break in Salzburg! You certainly managed to pack a lot of activity into your visit as well as enjoying the facilities in the wellness hotel. In 2019 we stayed in Fuschl am See for a week which is a short bus ride from Salzburg. We spent a day in the city and really enjoyed visiting the museum which has a large collection of musical instruments. We used Salzburg airport again this year as we had a holiday in the Julien Alps in Slovenia. I love the mountains!
That sounds brilliant Clare, a couple of days in Saltzburg City to take in a show too, then a day or two longer in Naturhotel Forsthofgut would be ideal. The thing I love about the spa hotel is that it is family businesses built over generations lovingly added to, as someone with parents who run a small business I know how much time and attention to detail that takes. That is certainly what comes across immediately, it has a really friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
I thoroughly enjoyed the museum, Christina was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of my questions in depth.

What a fabulous time – I’m so happy for your exploration (and delicious breakfasts!)
It was fabulous Sheila, you would love it with your grandchildren, they have an onsite petting zoo! Stables with ponies and bigger horses for riding lessons, three large heated pools, just fabulous I wanted to be little again to try the climbing frame and trampoline (couldn’t resist 🤫), just a bit too big for the tree house and play house!
There were lots of adult only areas too, no children allowed in the relaxation rooms, different saunas and a wellness spa. I can hardly wait to show you the photos.
I have never eaten so much, even on a cruise once when I overdid the munchies! 😂

These are the days, my friend, you’ll hope they never end. You’ll sing and dance forever and a day…make the most of them!
Thank you for the overview of the trip – our girls would truly be taken with the horses, pools and particularly the trampolines which scare me for them, but they love them!!
Beautiful Salzburg! Sounds wonderful.
I wish I had your photography skills to do the place full justice but I hope the photographs that I did take will give you a taste of the full experience because it was certainly that, the Naturhotel Forsthofgut even had a stables (I was quite tempted to have a riding lesson, I’ve not been on a horse since a friends birthday party once) and a petting zoo with donkeys and lamas 🦙.

Wow awesome. Can’t wait to read the details of this pleasant stay! Thank you dear Charlotte!!
Goodness me. I’d need a holiday after all that 🙂
My parents came along, taking the opportunity to have an impromptu short break to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary a couple of months early, we normally have very hectic City holidays if we holiday together so this was a lovely combination. We all wished we’d had a couple of more days in the mountains but it gives us an excuse to go back.

That was really good, Charlotte. I always appreciate your responses
This is quite the life you’re leading, Charlotte! Outstanding!
Thank you GP, when I was invited by the hotel to make the trip I took full advantage of the opportunity and decided to make the most out of it. It was made all the more enjoyable because I talked my parents into an impromptu break with me. I went away thinking I must record more Mozart songs and arias to share just for pleasure.

Sure making me hungry, Charlotte.
Oh Don, wait till you see the photos. My parents came along and we all had different choices because we couldn’t make our minds up which menu choice to eat. From apple strudels to cheesecake, poached pears on top of crème brûlé, we had to have desserts even though we were all full. We’re all going on diets soon 😜.

Your photo is beautiful.
Thank you Jovina, my Mum took it.

What a wonderful trip! I would have loved every minute of it and can see you definitely did! We would only there for a day but I’d love to go back!
It is definitely somewhere to return to. I would love to explore the festival, actually I’d love to sing at the festival it looks magnificent. Christina told us that Rolando Villazon does a festival in January too. Music is very important there. The Naturhotel Forsthofgut was really out of this world I had no idea what to expect and it exceeded what I would normally expect from a hotel, they even had a martial arts class but more about that later.

Being in Salzburg must be a magical experience for you both. 🎶
