Charlotte’s journey in performance started with dance, pre-primary aged 3, one lesson each week with the British Ballet Organisation in both ballet and tap. She was a bit of a drama queen so aged six her parents enrolled her in a Saturday morning Stagecoach theatre school where she acted, danced and sang in groups of three stages over ten years with many musical theatre chorus and principal roles during that time. At about the age of ten she started 30 minute piano lessons at school, it was the first time she read music; she also started IDTA Ballroom and Latin dancing together with all her family. She met singing teacher Jayne Wilson GRNCM at Knutsford High School who introduced her to classical music and opera. At 16, she commenced specialised musical training at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music passing her ABRSM Grade 8 voice with distinction and Grade 5 piano, also passing Grade 5 Music Theory with distinction. A level success followed in Mathematics; Contemporary Dance; Drama; Music and Music Theatre.
Charlotte studied a four year BMus Music Performance degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), graduating in 2016 with Honours of the First Class. During this time she sang in numerous prestigious venues with the RCS chamber choir and Les Sirenes female chamber choir for three years for a full list of works please request Charlotte’s current cv by e-mail. She took part in several fully staged operas: La Rondine; Simon Boccanegra; Sir John in Love (Dance Captain); and Dido and Aeneas (First Witch) and several opera scenes. Charlotte represented the RCS in the Kathleen Ferrier Bursary competition in Blackburn and was awarded the audience prize having won a coveted place in the final; she went on to win 3rd prize in the Hugh S Roberton Scot Song Competition 2013. In May 2014 she was Highly Commended in the Jean Highgate scholarship competition.
Charlotte formed a lieder partnership with concert pianist George Todica. George accompanied Charlotte in the 2015 Llangollen International Eisteddfod where she was awarded a 3rd place in the ‘Voice of the Future’ category at the age of 20. They won a prestigious invitation to the 2015 International Workshop on the songs of Edvard Grieg in Norway culminating in a final performance of songs from Haugtussa, and they performed songs from this cycle at the Leeds Lieder Masterclass Fringe Concert in 2016.
Other soprano opera roles have included: Eve in Jonathan Dove’s ‘The Walk from the Garden’. Jane in scenes from ‘The Cabinet of Dr Caligari’ at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and Jessie Junior in ‘The Little White Town of Never Weary’ Scottish Tour 2016: also learning the role of Serpina in ‘La Serva Padrona’ for Scottish Opera Connect and Education. Zerlina in ‘Don Giovanni’; La Zia and cover for Kate Pinkerton in ‘Madama Butterfly’ for Opera Britain. Novice in ‘Suor Angelica’, 2nd Knabe ‘Die Zauberflöte’, and Gretel in ‘Hansel and Gretel’ with the MAI Opera Company in Italy 2015. Most recently, August 2016, performing Frasquita in ‘Carmen’ with the Berlin Opera Academy, Germany.
In September 2016, Charlotte commences a Masters program at the Royal College of Music, London for two years. She is looking forward to the next stage in her musical adventure.

Thanks You 🙂
Bitte schön, gnädiges Fräulein!
Just out of interest, Charlotte, do you speak a foreign language? Would that help with your singing? Just curious. G in G
I did three years of German at school, a year of Italian, I’m doing a year of French and I’d love to spend some time in these Countries to immerse myself in the language because it would help. I love the sounds in Czech too. 😊
The Czech word “pivo” is rather nice. It means “beer.” 🙂 Here’s the Czech version of Where Have All the Flowers Gone? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KLKmn6MgDM
Thank you ☺️

Hi Charlotte!
Hope you’re well! I wanted to first of all thank you for being a subscriber to my blog!
I’m reaching out to you to let you know about some changes to my blog site. A couple of months ago, I moved to a self hosted site. While the link remains the same and I could move all my subscribers over without a hitch, I just found out that my WordPress followers like yourself would have to visit my new site and resubscribe to it if you wanted to keep receiving email notifications every time I posted (which I’m hoping you do!).
I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I’m reaching to all my lovely fellow WordPress followers because I’ve loved the interaction I’ve had with all of them even if it was just a plain old ‘like’!
Have a great day!
Best,
Sujatha

Scandalous!

I use to call my mom every morning but she passed away in December right before her 58th birthday. I will always remember the good times I had with her and everything she has done for me. It’s always a good feeling when your parents are there for you to show unconditional love. When there are kids out there in the world who don’t have that luxury. We show feel very blessed. Also thank you for visiting my blog as will.
Best wishes to you too. 🙂

Charlotte, I would like to hear you sing something that demands mean and dramatic voicing, putting wrinkles in your face and shaking your hair, all that affecting the dramatic voice. There would be something almost guttural in some moments. What I have heard goes with your looks, sweetness. You are, I am guessing, a very sweet-natured person. Also, your general appearance is sweetness itself. I have directed in the theatre, and this is the “director” coming out of me. Your voice is beautiful, as you are personally. I would like to hear that unexpected side in one so beautiful. The songs you do sing I have enjoyed with that technology you use in your photos (slick!). John Deethardt. Denver, Colorado, USA. Thank you for following me on my many blogs.
😊 funny you should say that John, I’m a scarred, coke snorting witch in Dido and Aeneas this week. Back combing awful for my hair! The things we do for art 😁. Thank you for visiting and your message.
