Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again

August 13, 2014 — 45 Comments

Tonight’s post is only a short one as my brother Matt is coming home tonight as it is his birthday later this week and I am looking forward to spending some time with him.:)

Here is a video of my performance of “Wishing You were Somehow Here Again” from “The Phantom Of The Opera” which I hope will give you a flavour of the concert.

I had such a wonderful time last Sunday performing with the Tideswell Male Voice Choir at Gawsworth Hall. It was great to perform again with the choir who always make me feel so welcome, especially Dennis Kay ( the musical director ) who makes this all possible

The Tudor house and gardens provided an incredible setting for the concert and I want to say a big thank you to Christopher Ellis ( keyboards ) and Derrick McGill ( percussion ) for the truly atmospheric accompaniment.

“One Voice” – the opening song from the concert

I found out that we had a professional photographer in the audience last Sunday who has kindly allowed us to use some of the pictures that he took.

Here is a picture of Matthew Mellor performing “Master Of The House” from “Les Miserables”. It was great fun to join in with the rest of the choir to help set the scene

    Lovely rendition.

    I loved watching your performance!

Beautiful performance, Charlotte! Love your voice and the song.

    So captivating. Beautiful, Charlotte.

Your beautiful voice and characterisation were perfect.

Thanks John, I love this venue. I took a lovely phone call from an old friend of mine called Doris the following day, to say she hadn’t known I was on the bill and was so thrilled to see me walk out and hear me singing live and that she’d had a fabulous evening which was just perfect.
      Best wishes

Great job doing one of my favorite songs from the Phantom.

    Very nice performing!

You sounds soooo amazing, my dear! 🙂

You have such a beautiful voice! Thank you for sharing this.

You sang this emotional song so well. Well done, Charlotte!

It is very emotional for me I sang it, more inwardly, at one of my favourite Aunties funeral service a few years ago, so difficult.
      Best wishes

I have had to sing at a couple of funerals and it is so difficult to do! You must have been very young at the time – what a brave thing to do.

I was about 12 or 13, my Mum wanted me to record it but when my Aunty discovered she had cancer she asked me that if I felt I could she’d like me to sing at her service as I always sang my latest song for her every time I saw her from being about six. I think of her every time I sing this song and every time I hear it which is lovely.

Very beautiful, Charlotte! I wish I could sing like that, but am very grateful to have been able to enjoy your pure voice 🙂

Lovely! One of my fave songs and fave Broadway musicals.

I love Broadway I saw Memphis, Greenday, Fuerza-Bruta, and Avenue Q on a school drama trip and Evita with Ricky Martin with my parents. Phantom is one of my all time favourite musical theatre shows too.

Charlotte, this was amazing…you are such a talent! An incredible performance and with one of my favorite songs as well. Beautiful!

That was my favorite performance of yours I’ve heard so far. I also noticed the light on the choir changed during the performance. The music, the singing, all great. Everything is awesome. 🙂

Just beautiful! I love your voice❤️

Awesome as usual. Love the pictures and of course your song. Lovely. Happy Birthday to your brother. 🙂

You have an astonishing talent. Lovely performance.

Wow! Cold chills listening to your video. Well done (as usual)! 🙂

    Very good voice

Go Girl! A pleasure to listen to! My two daughters are vocalists…one studying vocal performance at Willamette University in Oregon. Anyway… we are love Phantom, although we are Les Mis people (you are usually one or another, right?)
