Charlotte, thank you so much for following my blog. I’ve really enjoyed perusing yours and catching a glimpse of your passion for the arts. I pray that your talents will always bless the world as they are doing now.
I love your art Collen, the ‘Moms Moms tree’ is beautiful I’d love something like that painted on my wall but I have to keep it white. My Mum’s bought me a massive canvas to play with over the Summer in order to add a bit of colour in the room.
Best Wishes,
Charlotte
Just listened to you – bravo! Beautiful voice, so relaxing to hear. I hope you don’t mind if I write while I listen to you. 🙂

Hi Charlotte – thank you for following my blog The Reluctant Retiree. I hope you enjoy the upcoming stories. I really like the content on your blog and wish you lots of luck with the singing and studying, GG
Thanks for visiting, I hope you’re feeling much better now. I love your cruise pictures, I wonder if they have classical singers on cruises? Hmmm 🙂
Best Wishes,
Charlotte
Hi Charlotte – sorry for the delay in reply. Dodgy Internet access. I am back to normal health now, thank goodness. We had some wonderful entertainment from Klapa singers (local folk songs) on our cruise. I have heard classical singers on cruise ships – got to target the right target market eg probably the older cruisers (like me). GG
Thanks for the advice, I will check some of the cruise lines and see what entertainment they provide.
Warmest wishes
Charlotte
Charlotte – I went to a dinner concert last night in Salzburg. There were five musicians and two singers, the female a soprano. They sang arias from Mozart (since this is his birthplace). I think this happens in Vienna too. That could be worth checking out. GG
Hi Gwendoline, do you remember the name of restaurant that you went too and I will Google it. A great idea for possible performance slots though thanks for thinking about me. I hope that you are having a wonderful time, how long are you touring for?
Best wishes 🙂
Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, try googling St Peter Stiftskeller in Salzburg Austria. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you cannot get a result, We do not return home until late September. Actually we will have some time in England and Scotland in a month or so. GG
Hi Gwendoline, I checked out the restaurant that you gave me the name of. The Mozart concert and meal sounds fabulous and I wonder if something similar could be done closer to home 🙂 I think I will have to do some research.
When are you over in the UK? I wonder if you are near any of my concerts.
Warmest wishes
Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, from 23 August to 6th September in England, then a week in Scotland. London, Cambridge, Kent and Preston. Does any of that match up with you? best regards GG
Hi Gwendoline, this sounds like a real Tour 🙂 I have concerts through the Summer which are mainly in the North West of England and then back to College towards the end of September. When I get all the dates I will post them on my blog as well as my web-site. Enjoy your Summer travels and it is lovely to hear from you again.
Warmest wishes
Charlotte
Thanks, I will watch out for the dates. Just to confuse you further – I went to a concert last night in the Spanish Synagogue in Prague. Just a one hour interlude of chamber music with a soprano solo. A mixture of classical, Gershwin and Jewish songs. Similar concerts take place all over Prague, every night…..GG
Hi Gwendoline, this sounds like a wonderful vacation 🙂 I once sang “Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém” from Rusulka (Song To The Moon). I had to learn it in Czech and I had great time getting the pronunciation as close as possible. It is a beautiful and haunting song.
Enjoy the rest of your trip
Charlotte
As many have told you and as I feel the need to reiterate, you have a great voice. I don’t know anything about opera but I enjoyed the selections here. Thanks for the follow and I’m glad I set aside the time to drop in for a listen 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed my small selection on the blog, the more I’m learning about Opera the more interesting it is becoming, hopefully I can pass on some of this knowledge that I am enjoying through my blog.

Hi Charlotte, thanks for the follow. Music is probably more important to Britain than anywhere else. When Henry VIII closed the monasteries, he ended arts patronage; only music continued, in part because it was something ordinary people could do, but also because Elizabeth loved to dance. During the civil war lots of fun things were banned; it seems this coincided with a surge in mental health problems and witch hunts – I blame this on the loss of celebrations, and music was of course a big part of this. It is no coincidence that Britain and the English speakiing world are so successful at music. It’s part entertainment, but also a survival stratetgy. Good luck with your studies.
I was thinking about your fascinating comment when I read a proposal to change the English national curriculum to study music to key stage 3 (age 14) including reading music, and music history. I have written a blog post about it with links back to the original articles. I will be following your blog fascinating history in bite size chunks. Thank you.
Best wishes

Bonjour Dao, I love the translator on our blog, I’d like to get one of those on my blog. I learn French for the first time in year 3 of my course although I have learnt a couple of French songs such as The Flower Duet which is just the most beautiful song to sing with a friend.

Hi Linda, my Dad’s Uncle Alf who lived in New Zealand did all the leg work on the ancestry of the Hoather line of our family. It was so interesting, there were lots of big families with eight or nine children. Good luck with the research.

Charlotte
thank you for visiting, =^_^= good luck on your journey
Thank you for your good luck wishes I appreciate you leaving a comment, it reminds me to visit blogs that I enjoy to read. Yesterday you asked if readers had “a good night’s sleep”, last night I didn’t 🙁 and I had to be up for work at 7am this morning. I’d spent a full day rehearsing from 10:30am to 09:30pm for a big show at Gawsworth Hall with the Tideswell Male Voice Choir and other young singers. It was very hot but a great day – very exciting, but I mustn’t have switched off properly as I had a quick shower and jumped straight into bed when I got home at 10:30 pm.
Warmest Wishes

Thank you for following my blog. I was blown away by yours.I have no singing talent so I write. Am always in awe of those who do.
Hi Donna, thanks for dropping by, your juicer stories reminds me of an enterprise project I organised at primary school, I persuaded my Mum to let me borrow her blender to make juices and smoothies. Everything went really well, I was taught how to use it safely so felt very important being the main operator, we sold lots and raised money for the charity and I was being so careful because it was a glass blender that I insisted on packing up myself. I washed it carefully and put the top on it, only I hadn’t secured it properly so when I picked it up as I was leaving it dropped and it smashed – oh oh! Luckily it was safety glass so it was a clean break!
Best wishes and hope you can visit again soon
Charlotte
You’re a really good singer! 🙂

Your voice is absolutely beautiful! I’m not sure what might have led you to my own little blog, but I hope you find enough time to enjoy it as much as I will enjoy reading yours! I’e only hit a few articles so far, but you bring up some very interesting points.
Thank you for your lovely compliment, I did enjoy your blog, thanks for linking to mine. Good luck with your road trip, like you I didn’t give myself a back-up plan which alarmed the careers/higher education advisers at school at first, I always think if you’re willing to get stuck in to all opportunities along the way somehow it will come good.
All the best 🙂
Charlotte
I’m quite sure it’s alarming my parents, at the very least! Thanks for the support; I’m glad I’m not the only one willing to dive head-first into a crazy adventure. It seems to be working out for you so far, so my hopes are high!
