    1. Hello Barry, I do love to sing and perform above all else, I also love to dance and act so all those things considered I would simply love to be an operatic soprano singing and acting all over the world. I love a wide variety of music from pop, jazz, rock, music theatre, classical and even Disney songs, I am being introduced to new forms of music all the time now and listening to new composers of the future is also fabulous. I hope that you can pop back from time to time to follow my progress 😉

    1. Thanks for your lovely comment Alima, I was part of an audience with a wonderful soprano last week called Dame Gwyneth Jones who was still performing in her seventies, she was absolutely inspirational and I’ve been writing an outline of a post about her on the train which I’m hoping to format tonight if I’m not too tired after college.

  13. Hi, Charlotte. I love your page! You have an incredible voice. I saw that you were following my page and was super excited. Thanks for your support! I love that your page is lavender, a fabulous shade of purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors. I hope you find your dream. I wish you all the best in Opera school. 🙂 Cheers! Always, D’Amoretti “Teddy” Seussa

    1. Hi, thank you for visiting, I tried lots of different colours yellow, pink, blue like my website but when I tried the lavender I decided to stick with it, it’s very easy on the eye and a warm colour that goes well with pink.

  14. Dear Charlotte,
Such a delight to hear your voice–I especially loved the Green Linnet song. Your hopes and dreams seem so likely to come true! Thanks for the follow on my blog ayeartothinkitover.com. I hope it’s either useful or fun, or both!

    1. Thank you for your vote of confidence Polly.
It’s good to read a teachers thoughts. I used to illustrate my writing a lot because I’m a visual learner, brainstorming ideas was one of my favourite things to do. Not drifting off the question, structural planning and writing too much without conclusions and links are all work in progress 😉

  15. Tremendous! I love classical. It’s such a strenuous discipline, though so beautiful. Best wishes and I’ll follow you with great interest. Thanks for checking out my strangeness as well!

    1. Hi Dylan, thanks for visiting, there are so many lovely classical songs to sing and there are new compositions in this style to explore, it’s very exciting to study music both by learning about the history and future advancements. Hope you remember to pop back from time to time.

  16. Thank you for following my blog, Charlotte.
As a fellow Scot living near Edinburgh, I shall be interested to follow your progress as a classical singer. You have a very beautiful voice and you look/sound like having a wonderful future. I wish you well in it.
I love music and there is a strong musical motif running through the novel I am currently writing, in particular Bellini’s Oboe Concerto. Do you sing anything from ‘Norma’ or ‘La Sonnambula’?

  17. Hi Charlotte, thanks for viewing and following my blog. I like your idea of reading other blogs of varying genres to fuel your imagination. I have never considered following a classical singer for inspiration before, but that has now changed.
    Best wishes for the future.
    Michael.
p.s. if our paths ever cross would love to do some b&w documentary style photographs of you. f.o.c.

      1. Hi Charlotte, apologies for any confusion. I am based in two areas. Scarborough, North Yorkshire and Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.

  19. Thanks for following my blog, Charlotte, it’s a pleasure to be in contact with you and listen to your lovely voice. I am deeply envious as I’m tone deaf, even my four dogs howl when I sing. Treasure your gift and best wishes for your future!

  20. Charlotte,

  21. What a fabulous journey you are on – good luck!

I adore opera – in fact we are off to Glyndebourne this weekend to see Hansel and Gretel (for the third time!)

    1. How brilliant, I’ve never been to Glyndebourne I’d love to, I saw a review of Hansel and Gretel today in a newspaper it looks great did you enjoy it this time, who stood out to you? And why?
      Best wishes
      Charlotte

      1. I enjoyed it a lot – though it was an abridged version rather than the full version we had seen before (It was part of the winter tour so it was only two hours with a 20 min interval. I think it would have been more like three with a dinner interval last time).

As for who stood out…actually it would have to be the conductor! (We often sit right by the pit) He was phenomenal and such a delicate command of the players.

The sets were amazing (they almost always are at Glyndebourne and imaginative too) and of the cast I’d have to pick out the father whose part was relatively small but absolutely exquisitely sung and perfectly acted… I now look forward already to the summer season. But I’d better start saving (my love of opera and my lack of budget are poor bedfellows!)

      2. My flat mate designs sets and I have conductor friends they would be pleased you noticed their parts in the spectacle. I watch opera on the cinema and student productions, the live professional Operas are just so amazing with so many talented people involved. Thanks for getting back to me.
        Best wishes
        Charlotte
