    1. Hi Francis, congrats on your Black Box film premiere, I love that music inspired you to write it. I also adore contemporary dance. I broke a metatarsal in my foot four months before my A level Dance exam in December 2011 , I had eight weeks in a boot and on crutches, then worked really hard in physio and dance class to be able to dance my final ‘Bruce’ project, your photographs of Brandon Ellis are just lovely I would love to see the final project I will leave my e-mail address on your blog.

My very best wishes and I hope you can find the time to drop by again soon

  1. Hi Charlotte.

Thank you for the follow and I wish you the very best in your journey as a singer. I look forward to reading about it and hearing you.

    Best wishes,

    Nick

    1. Hi Nicholas, If you get chance to listen to my recordings on my blog I would appreciate your opinion. A very good friend of mine from my time at junior RNCM won a organ scholarship to study at Cambridge University. I will visit your site and listen to the recordings of your music as I loved to work with the young composers at RNCM and it allowed me to collaborate vocally with them on their work.

If you ever need a young Soprano 🙂
      Best wishes

  2. Hi Charlotte,

Thanks for following my blog – I hope you’ll enjoy it 🙂

Good luck on your road to becoming an opera singer – I get goosebumps just thinking of the singing! I’ve never actually been to an opera, but I admire the singers and what they can do with their voices!

    1. Thanks for dropping by for a visit and leaving a comment. I hope that you enjoy the recordings and will listen out for other classical pieces. Come back any time and have a read through some of my posts 🙂

      Best wishes

  3. Thank you so much for following my blog Charlotte!
I majored in Opera Performance in Conservatory as well! Judging by your rep we sing the same fach 🙂 I look forward to reading about your journey. Best!

    1. Hi Lauren, I saw a Bel Canto course when I was in Florence and I thought that it would be fabulous to spend a month their after I finish my undergrad training. I will have to find out where my voice settles in the future but exploring new repertoire is so exciting for me 🙂

I hope that you can call back from time to time

  4. Hi Charlotte,

Thank you for following my blog.

I’ve listened to some of your recording on the blog and I’m sure you’ll reach your goal with no worries at all. You have an amazing voice!

If you’re still looking to write something on ‘how music impacts on society’ Google ‘Sing Australia’ and that might give you some ideas.

I wish you all the very best and I’m sure you’ll succeed.

    1. Hi Sonia, I had a look through your blog and WOW what a great time you seem to be having 🙂 I checked out the website for ” Sing Australia ” and it seems like a great way to socialise and bring people together. Best wishes for your future adventures and who knows maybe one day our paths will cross.

Best wishes and I hope you drop by again soon.

    1. Hi Lawrence, I had a listen to your recordings and understand the competency and dedication needed to play. My friend Syuzanna Kaszo is a beautiful pianist and I used to be amazed at the amount of practice that she did every day 🙂

Best wishes and I hope you can call back again soon

  6. Hi Charlotte! Blogging is a great way to share experiences and like yourself, I began blogging as a way to get some of my ideas, experiences and musings out there. I will be visiting back from time to time and I hope you also drop by my blog 🙂

    1. It has been a wonderful oportunity to connect with so many generous and supportive people. I never dreamed that I could engage with people from such diverse backgrounds and from so many different Nationalities , it has been truly inspiring. I hope that you get as much from the experience as I have.

  7. Thank you for recently following my blog. I have listened to your songs you have posted on your site and I must say you have a beautiful voice and obviously very talented. I hope your effort and dedication in music takes you to where you dream on going. My daughter is also pursuing her love in music so I have an idea of what its all about 🙂 Thanks again.

    1. Hi Erick, it looks like we both have a passion for something that requires dedication and patience 🙂 But the end result for both of us is well worth the wait. Enjoy the beauty of your plants and if time allows drop by again.

    1. Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment. The latest pictures on your blog look great. My Peepa ( Grandfather ) used to be in the merchant navy and has some amazing black and white pictures taken during storms in the Atlantic. To me they seem really scary as the waves and the swell where higher than the ship he was on. What’s the worst weather that you have been caught in doing your job?

Best wishes and come back and visit when you can
      Charlotte

      1. Hi Charlotte, thanks for the comments, I’ve been in some pretty bad weather, luck for me you don’t feel it much on rigs as I suffer from sea sickness quite bad.

  8. Hello Charlotte, thank you for following my blog. I wish you lots of success following your dreams and thank you for sharing your beautiful singing.

    1. Hi Janna, it is exciting and hard work, thank you for your good luck wishes, it’s only when you get to a Conservatoire that you realise you are only one of so many talented individuals, many of whom don’t just play one instrument but three! Some can compose and conduct and write beautiful verse it is a great leveller and a challenge that I love. Good luck with your writing too 🙂

  9. First, I really want to thank you for following my blog, it means a lot to me when people take the time to do something like that for me. Second, I’m really surprised at your passion, frankly, I don’t know many people who want to be classical singers or do Opera, now a days it’s all pop, rock, etc, so I find that very interesting. And third, I listened to your recordings, and I must say that you are very talented, and I hope your dreams come to fruition and that you go on to Opera school. Again, thank you for following my blog, and best wishes in all of your future endeavors.

    1. Hi Drew , thank you for your lovely comments. All of the other students in my music group at school were into rock, pop, etc. in fact none of them wanted to do Music A Level all preferring to do the BTEC Level 3 Nationals ( Link ) so they had to cancel the A level course, fortunately for me I persuaded the music department to let me study for my A level within the BTEC group as I required the background study and classical teaching of the traditional A level syllabus.

      All the best
      Charlotte

    1. Thank you for dropping by Becca, good luck with your toning, have you tried yoga or dance – I find it more fun than gruelling exercise classes 🙂

    1. Hi Stephen, I love woodwork, a few years ago we bought two wooden apples for my parents they were lovely all different woods like apple slices put together into a whole. Good luck with your business and craft fairs.

      All the best
      Charlotte

    1. This is going to sound bad to someone like you that loves to cook and bake but one of the best things about being home is having meals cooked, not having to shop for food or think about what to make. When I go back to studying at the end of September I’m going to look back over all my favourite cooking blogs and invite friends around for cooking and bake offs.

      All the best
      Charlotte

      1. Haha! No I can’t deny that not having to plan meals is awesome 🙂 I hope my blog helps you with some comfort food when you go back to studying! Good luck 🙂

  10. WOW. I could write something more profound or specific. But after reading this, all that you are trying to accomplish, all I can say is…WOW. You are a role model.
Like I tell my students: Be the change you want.

    1. Thanks for visiting, I like your tag line “Together we can see where our Imaginations take Us!”. When I auditioned at the Trinity Conservatoire in London I had to do an improvised story telling challenge on a topic they decided on the day. It was a great challenge and I left them without the ending to my story, on the day I let my imagination run riot. Now you’ve reminded me about that I must write it down and set the story to music before I lose it again 🙂

      Best Wishes
      Charlotte

      1. You are truly gifted. Thank you for sharing your talents with the rest of us. That may sound cheesy but sometimes it’s nice to hear that we are appreciated for doing what we love.

I also wanted to ask – Did you notice how many posts you have on your site of people who write lyrics/songs?
I was just wondering if this seemed a bit pointed to you? I don’t mind self-promotion, but sometimes I see it everywhere. Curse of the internet I suppose. Easy to become jaded.
Anyway – thanks for the feedback and best wishes.

I look forward to seeing what you have for us next. Good luck with your story/song. The most memorable ballads (or any song for that matter) are the ones that speak to us. You are creative and talented, so I doubt if you’ll have any trouble writing something that moves and matters to your fans.
        God Bless.

      2. I have learned so much from reading the posts on the blogs that I follow and I am grateful for the support that has been shown to me. I really do appreciate the time the commentators like yourself give up to visit, read and then comment on my posts. Thank you again for contribution.

Best wishes and I hope that you can call back again when you have the time to catch up 🙂
        Charlotte

  11. Thanks for the follow, Charlotte. You have a lovely voice. Good luck with your studies and with your career! My younger daughter studied voice in high school and college, but she decided to major in theatre and English education in college. Now she’s trying to decide if she wants to wants to teach or act. I’m hoping she’ll do both! 🙂

    1. Hello Merril, thanks for listening, I appreciate your good luck wishes. My school had a fabulous performing arts academy and lots of my friends and acquaintances from other years went into theatre majors. I wish your daughter luck in whatever she chooses to do.

      Best wishes

  12. Hello! I’m so glad you found time to look at my blog, I’m still really new and every person who visits is a godsend 🙂 I’m studying in a preparatory music school, voice and violin, and I’m looking forward to seeing how a musical education is achieved and how you flourish! Keep up the lovely work! Xoxo

    1. Congratulations getting into your music school in Chicago, that must have been awesome for you. If you like British TV and you can see “The White Queen” a BBC drama series it’s a great watch.

      All the best
      Charlotte

      1. Thank you! It was amazing to know that others see potential in me, not only my parents 😀 I’ll check it out! Sounds very regal 🙂

  13. Hi, Charlotte.
Thank you for following my blog, Adventures in Fantasy. I must say, your recordings are fantastic. I wish you all the luck in reaching your dreams!
    Take care,
    Emily

    1. Hi Emily, like you I take inspiration from photographs too, that’s what has been so great about blogging you get to see much so more of the world than you would normally. I liked your post about music inspiring you when you’re writing, I get a bit distracted though and start just singing along and the writing goes to pot. When I was learning how to drive the instructor wouldn’t let me have the radio on at all 🙂

    1. Thanks for visiting Liz, I’m pleased you’re doing what you love too, I love the idea of beach glass and being creative with it as you are, I’ve picked up shells before but not beach glass, good luck with your Beach Glass Bum site. I loved the film “Sweet Home Alabama” and the way that they used the natural glass to create art 🙂

      Very best wishes

  14. Hi Charlotte,

Thanks for following my blog. I was happy to come across yours. I listened to your songs and they are wonderful, loved that you could post them right in your blog. Your voice is so lovely and I wish you the best of luck in achieving your goals. We’ve been watching America’s Got Talent and there were 2 male opera singers in the running. One was a soprano and the other I believe a tenor. Unfortunately, they let the male soprano go but it was amazing to me to hear him sing in that range that is mostly reserved for women. I think it is great that you are documenting your journey and posting your music to share with the world. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

    1. Hi Cheryll Ann, thanks for your wishes of luck and good wishes, I have to rely on my Dad to do all the technical things on my blog 🙂 I just tell him what I want to do and hope he can fix it up. I have a counter tenor ( male soprano )friend called Kieron and I always enjoy listening to him.

  17. Charlotte, thank you so much for following my blog. I am SO impressed; I have never encountered someone so involved in Opera. I can’t wait to hear more about your journey!

  18. Thank you for following my blog and good luck in your career. I enjoyed your Eisteddfod blurb – my Mom had a silver cup from singing there around 1947 or so. She had a beautiful voice, and unfortunately, I didn’t inherit that ability. But I still love all sorts of music!

    1. Hi Ruth, I am sure that your Mother enjoyed the experience as it is very exciting for the performers and the audience are so supportive. The event has grown over the years and there is now a permanent stage in the show ground. I bet you have a voice in there somewhere though 🙂

Best wishes and I hope you can call back and visit with me again soon

  19. Hi Charlotte! Thanks for visiting my blog and becoming a follower. I’m still pretty new in the blogging business and happy for everybody stopping by. It’s very fascinating to read about you becoming a professional singer – good luck with it. Maybe I’ll see you one day in an opera house or on TV and then I can say – this fantastic singing lady is following my blog 🙂 Sunny greetings!

    1. Hi Marika, I am glad that I found your site 🙂 Oh to be bi-lingual, I have to learn lyrics in several different languages and it would have been so helpful to have been more proficient in them.

Best wishes and drop by again soon

I have just finished my first year as well! I have two years left until I get my bachelor’s degree. Do you have two years left as well, or is your program longer perhaps? 🙂 Not too well read up on how it works outside of Sweden. 🙂

        Cecilia

      2. Hi Cecilia, I have three years left on my BMus undergraduate degree, I have just finished my first year too. Then if I am of sufficient standard I can apply to do a postgraduate masters which is for another one to two years duration.

    1. Hi Kat, they say yellow and red is the most appetising colour for food, hence why big brands use them, so that sounds like a good idea for your apron. I tie dyed t-shirts before and used purple and blue on white, use good quality rubber gloves because as I found out the hard way sometimes the dye comes off them.

      Thanks for visiting best wishes
      Charlotte

  23. Thank you for the follow. Waving to you from Texas and wishing you much success with your singing career. You have a lovely voice.

    1. Thank you for the compliment Mary J, I am much too scared of motorbikes to ever ride pillion, my Nana’s sister Joan had someone pull out on her fella’s bike and they both took a serious spill last year. I do like travelling around the countryside though so I can see the enjoyment in it.
